Museum School
| Make your own wedding band |
| The Attleboro Area Industrial Museum is offering it’s popular Make
Your Own Wedding Ring Class. In this class participants get to design their
own wedding rings with the help of our resident silversmith John Szymak. Designs
are created in wax using the museum’s workshop facilities. When designs
are finalized, they are taken to an outside facility for casting in whatever
precious metal is chosen. Have that truly unique wedding band. Design it yourself!
The class will meet for four two-hour sessions from 10A.M. to 12 noon on
October 9, 16, 23, and 30. The non-refundable fee for the class is $125.
There will be an additional cost for the precious metal used for the final
casting. This amount will depend on the metal chosen. Some work on the design
at home between sessions may be required. Space will be limited so early
registration is suggested. |

| Underfoot: Manhole and other covers |
Among our current efforts to serve the Attleboro community is a new exhibit
by Vic Bonneville entitled “Underfoot: Manhole and Other Covers.” It
is scheduled to open Sept. 22nd with a reception from 6:oo pm to 8:00pm
and will run through Nov. 19th. This unique exhibit will allow
participants to learn about the extensive and unknown part of our city that
lies “Underfoot.” It gives viewers an opportunity to appreciate
the artistic beauty and industrial marvel of the various covers that lie beneath
our feet. The exhibit will be open to the public during regular museum hours,
10am to 4pm Thursdays and Fridays, with tours for large groups available by
appointment. Admission to the museum is free, but donations are highly appreciated.
The museum is wheelchair accessible. For further information, please contact
the museum.
