The Fire Queen is a beautifully made 24 man water pumping wagon purchased by the Attleboro volunteer fire Department in the 1850s. It was designed to be drawn by firemen rather than horses and it was made by the William Jeffers Company of Pawtucket Rhode Island. The pumper is rich with brass detailing. The museum acquired the pumper from The Attleboro Fire Fighters Relief Association and it is the centerpiece of a display featuring information on some of the historic fires in Attleboro’s history. It would be well worth your while to make a trip to the museum and see this piece of Attleboro Fire Department history.
